FAQs

Can I have a tour of the school? Can I talk to an advisor?

During the fall semester, UT Austin hosts Longhorn Saturdays. These Saturdays are the best time to get information about UT and The School of Architecture, and tour of our facilities. For more information and to register for a Longhorn Saturday, please visit bealonghorn.utexas.edu/meetus/events/longsat/index.html

I'm not able to attend a Longhorn Saturday, what can I do?

If a Longhorn Saturday doesn't work in your schedule, The School of Architecture does offer tours in the fall and spring semesters. Please visit bealonghorn.utexas.edu/meetus/visit to register for a tour and information session.

I understand that tours are not available during the summer months, but can I speak to an advisor during this time?

Yes, but we require that you schedule an appointment with us at least 1 week in advance, and do so via email or phone at 512-471-1922 or email at soa-ug@austin.utexas.edu. If emailing, please type "Appointment" in the subject of your email. Depending on individual needs, you may schedule a phone or office appointment.

Location

The School of Architecture is located in Goldsmith Hall (GOL), Sutton Hall (SUT), West Mall Building (WMB), and Battle Hall (BTL), near the corner of Guadalupe and 22nd Streets.

Visitor Parking

Metered street parking around the School is possibile, but is usually very difficult to find during the semester. The closest parking lot to the School is the privately-owned Dobie Mall Parking Garage on Whitis between 20th and 21st. There are also several surface parking lots on Whitis between MLK and 24th. These are all less than a 5-minute walk. The University also has several public parking garages and lots, but these are located farther from the School.
