Course Description

This course describes some basic concepts in the application of day lighting in Architecture. The major portion of the course is spent in understanding the concepts behind the quantity of light and its distribution in a room. A smaller portion is spent in the investigation of the quality of light in as much as we are able to explain it physically. The primary emphasis of the course is on physical observations and measurement and the course supplements them with manual calculations and computer simulations.
