Course Description

The Professional Practice course is designed to expose students to the business and legal issues associated with the practice of architecture and related design disciplines. The course uses a blend of case studies and lectures to expose students to marketing, management, accounting, finance, and legal issues. Legal issues include the regulation of professional practices, contracts, insurance, professional liability, tort law and intellectual property. An exposure to basic economic principles and practice experience is desirable but not required.
