The mission of the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) is to lead the study and practice of sustainable development in Texas, the nation and the world through complementary programs of research, education and community outreach.
Current Events
The UT Thermal Lab is almost complete, and research on building energy efficiency will begin this fall.
The 2nd Alley Flat Prototype House Warming was held in the alley behind 904 Lydia St on August 27.
The first CSD symposium of the year was held in the Mebane Gallery in Goldsmith Hall on August 28. A set of working papers will be produced based on the results of the symposium. Video of the presentations are now online. Check back later in the fall for more information on next semester's CSD Symposium.
As a part of the 350.org International Day of Climate Action on October 24, the CSD organized "Get Clean to Get Green," a brownfield site clean-up for the future home of the Guadalupe-Saldaña Net-Zero Energy Subdivision, in collaboration with several community partners and the City of Austin.
