Design Futures Public Interest Design (PID) 2015 Student Leadership Forum

May 29 to June 2, 2015, 2 to 1 p.m.
2015 Design Futures Forum

The Design Futures Public Interest Design (PID) 2015 Student Leadership Forum was part of a five-day, interdisciplinary series of events held at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. Student leaders from across the country collaborated with practitioners and university faculty from eleven universities, to strategize ways to use design as a tool for social equity and positive change in underserved communities.

The peer-based, professionally-focused forum's goals were: to build the next generation of leadership in this emerging field; to continue to diversify the ecosystem of PID in terms of discipline, background, race, gender, and scale; to elevate the rigor and critical capacity of PID curricula; and, to curate a national network of thought leadership drawn from contributing practitioners and faculty committed to the advancement of the field.
