Hurricane Harvey came ashore on Friday 25 August and during its most intense period delivered more rainfall in space and time than any storm in US history. A national mobilization of urban search and rescue teams to respond to Harvey was coordinated by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), which requested the assistance of UT Austin to provide expedited information about flood conditions. The seminar will describe how the emergency response was coordinated from the TDEM State Operations Center, and the role played by UT Austin in that effort.
