class of 2017 CEREMONY
To indicate your participation in the School of Architecture's ceremony, complete the RSVP survey. The survey closed on Monday, May 8.
Because the capacity of Hogg Memorial Auditorium is limited, every guest attending will need a ticket to enter the building.
We will distribute free tickets to each graduate participating in the ceremony. Each graduate participating in the ceremony will be able to pick up six (6) tickets beginning Wednesday, May 10. Tickets will be available at the front desk in the Dean's Office the week before commencement. Tickets must be picked up by Noon on Friday, May 19.
If you do not need all of the tickets you receive, you may share them with other graduates or return them to the front desk. Tickets returned to the Dean's Office will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at Hogg Memorial Auditorium beginning at 2:00 p.m. the day of the ceremony. However, feel free to coordinate directly with your fellow graduates to get the number of tickets you need.
All degree candidates wear caps and gowns. You may purchase these items from the University Co-op. The School of Architecture's color is lilac.
All degree candidates must check in no later than 2:00 p.m. in the Goldsmith Hall Lobby to assemble for procession. Please do not be late, as the procession begins promptly at 3:00 p.m.
Please leave your belongings with your family or friends; do not bring your belongings with you to Goldsmith Hall. There is no place to store them, and the building is not secure.
Several services are available to those attending the ceremony who may require specific accommodations based on a disability. If you or a guest are attending the ceremony and require special accommodations or have questions, please contact Jasmin Blas-Mendieta. While every effort will be made to accommodate your needs, Hogg Memorial Auditorium may be unable to meet last-minute requests.
The university uses Flash Photography for individual ceremony pictures. Flash will provide information on how to order photos following the event.
A reception honoring graduates, their families, and friends will immediately follow the ceremony. The reception will conclude by 6:15 p.m.
Please join Interim Dean Elizabeth Danze at the 134th Spring University-wide Commencement for the ceremony and fireworks celebration.
