INTERESTED FIRMS

Although we have long-standing associations with many firms nationally and internationally, the Professional Residency Program is always interested in establishing new relationships.

The Professional Residency Program places honors students in sponsoring firms in two sessions: Spring|Summer (January- August) and Summer|Fall (June - December). Students are expected to work on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) for a minimum of six months. Participating firms are encouraged to compensate the student fairly for the work performed.  Some firms offer a monthly stipend rather than hourly compensation. Additionally, firms may choose to reimburse the student's program fees ($500.00 USD), although there is no expectation to do so.

When a student is placed, the sponsoring firm completes the PRP Agreement, which highlights the student's and firm's commitment to meet the objectives of the program. Additional information includes the dates for the start and end of the internship and the name of student's supervisor (a registered architect within the office) and is completed by the signatures of the firm contact, the student and the PRP Director.
