How Solar Works

Solar power is harnessing energy from the light of the sun and converting it into heat or electricity or electricity.

A house typically uses solar power in the form of:

Photovoltaics (PV)

A process that converts sunlight into electricity.

• Many photo cells, typically made from silicon, make up a solar panel.
• Solar panels are wired together to make a 'solar array.'

Solar Hot Water

We use super efficient evacuated tubes to collect the heat of the sun, which then directly or indirectly heats the water used for the house.
