Austin is currently a pioneer in integrating a pilot motorcycle medic program to their existing Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Motorcycle medics can provide quicker access to asses emergency situations and determine wether an ambulance is indeed necessary. Motorcycle medics nonetheless have grueling daily routines, working long shifts with little chance to stop except to re-stock their emergency supply bags when necessary. A tongue-in-cheek look at the needs of Austin Motorcycle Medics, this small supply station provides the option for quick and efficent restock of supplies but also the necessary respite from daily routine. The design of the supply station allows for intuitive and streamlined empty bag restocking as well as space to re-load motorcycles with full bags. The station also looks at the ways efficiency could be combined with play and exercize to give medics the physical activity or rest they need to combat the repetitive motions and stressful situations they encounter every day.
