My twin two-year-old girlcubs and I were strolling around Pease Park today out in the drizzle when we discovered your delightful swing. I only wish I had my camera with me. The cubs loved it. It was even big and strong enough for all three of us to get on it. I loved the sense of whimsy it brought to the area. Thank you, thank you. I will be donating to the project because I want you to continue bringing that whimsy to the city .

I think the red swings are a great idea! A very nice way to liven up a space, particularly in New Orleans! I live in the Heritage Hills/Woodbridge neighborhood here in Austin. We have a small park here with nothing in it for adults or children. The neighborhood association has been trying to get the city to clean out the brush and put some equipment in the park to make it more attractive to residents and less attractive to the criminal element. I think a red swing would be a great start. The park is called Little Walnut Creek Greenbelt in the 1000 block of Hermitage Dr. I hope you can put a swing there, and of course I would be more than happy to sponsor it. Thanks!

Hi, I just heard about this project today. So cool! Can you tell me how I can get one or two for our local park? We live in north central Austin in the Brentwood/Crestview neighborhood - we've got a great park right here in the hood. Thanks

swings rock my world.

i would like to see a new swing in peace park near the playground. The esisting swings are too short and no fun to swing on. a tree swing would be a nice addition.

Hi! I live in New Orleans and am the curator/etc for a community based art project here called "Art In Action". The weblog link is below for info/etc. While reinstalling a piece yesterday on the Jeff Davis neutral ground in Mid City we discovered one of your red swings! Not only is it BEAUTIFUL but we hoped it was placed there in conjunciton with the art that's there ("O Water!" on the weblog - the pitcher hung from rope strung across the neutral ground - the pitcher's poised above a map of Louisiana made of sand ...)! It's like a little playground is manifesting - and we were thrilled. If you're interested I would LOVE to promote your swings in New Orleans on the ArtInAction weblog and to share ideas/etc. Your project is very much in keeping w/our manifesto and I would love to connect. Please visit the weblog, check out what we're doing, and email! And anyone interested in participating is free to email as well. Keep up the great work! Elizabeth www.artinaction-nola.blogspot.com

I was walking to my car to have my flat tire fixed this morning, when I stumbled across one of your swings on the UT campus. I was surprised for a moment, but then excitement washed over me and I ran over to it. I forgot all about the stress of dealing with my car and spent about five minutes swinging happily. I think your project is absolutely wonderful. It's whimsical, uplifting, useful, and joyful. Every city should have a red swing.

Best Idea Ever!

My sister and I were walking back from a parking garage on the UT campus and to our surprise there was this fun red tree swing. She and I total swung for about ten minutes! Thanks for the wonderful experience! Katie

Great idea! We were walking with the kids through Broadmoor, our flooded out neighborhood in New Orleans, when my two-year-old discovered the swing at S. Galvez and Robert. It gave him an unexpected half-hour of joy. We will be back! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Saturday morning in City Park, I've chosen a spot under the oaks to remove myself from the daily submerged grind of the city. Stumbling across a destroyed public restroom in an overgrown and forgotten golf course, something catches my eye. It's a swing! Positioned perfectly in the middle of an archway which leads to a pile of rubble, No. 18 surely must have been sent from above. I take out my Chinese dictionary and begin to re-learn the words and experiences of a life put on hold due to the destruction of this beloved place. The swing takes me far far away from New Orleans and back to memories shrouded in mist and dreams waiting to be re-discovered. Hours pass and I leave this swing, promising to return to this spot, how happy it has made me. Thank you.

Hi--my 3 year old son spotted the swing near the creek in the Cherrywood neighborhood today (6/21/07). Thanks so much for a really delightful experience. I hope the swing sticks around because we'll use it again. It inspired me to build a swing for our backyard. You made it look really simple & easy. Thanks again!
