UT VPR office recently approved the multi-year UT Bridging Barriers Grand Challenge theme Good Systems. The theme will be launched in 2019. The goal of Good Systems is to provide a way for prosocial values to drive the design of artificial intelligence in autonomous and semi-autonomous technologies so that those systems can be made good to both protect and improve individual wellbeing.
Dr. Jiao is one of the nine PIs for this Grand Challenge and he research will focus on Smart City and its societal and health impacts.
In 2018-2019 he will work on the following three projects.
1. 311 Calls and 500 Cities Health Data Challenge and Hackathon
2. Leveraging Detailed Air Quality Data (collected by Google Street Car)
3. Smart City Course Development
