As the director of the School of Architecture's Career Services office, everything Garrett Loontjer does stems from two main objectives:
*Educating students on the transition from the academic to the professional world
*Connecting students and alumni to key professionals worldwide
With a background in educational research, student affairs, and academic advising, he serves all UTSOA students both current and former.
In addition to his work in Career Services, Mr. Loontjer also serves on the board of directors for the Austin chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the ACE Mentor Program of America. As the University of Texas at Austin liaison to both organizations, he aims to bridge the gap between academic and professional design communities.
