Garrett Loontjer is the associate director for development at the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture where he focuses on corporation relations, philanthropy, and alumni engagement. Prior to this role, Garrett served as the school’s director of career services. As the chief placement officer for the UT School of Architecture, he strove to educate students on the transition from the academic to the professional world while connecting them with key professionals.
In addition to his work at the UTSOA, Garrett serves on the board of directors for the Austin chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and ACE Mentor Program of America. As the UT Austin liaison to both organizations, he aims to bridge the gap between academic and professional design communities.
