Patrick Russell studied Literature & Environment (MA) at the University of Nevada, Reno, and holds two BA degrees in Philosophy and English from the University of Central Arkansas. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Community and Regional Planning at the University of Texas. His research focuses upon the theory and development of green cities, or how cities might become a sites of reinhabitation in which residents create sustainable relationships with their surrounding bioregions. He has also begun his thesis research on the development of smart, resilient cities, and has received several grants to research smart cities in Japan for the summer of 2015.
