Camp Resident Assistant

Yefu Chen is a Ph.D. student in Community and Regional Planning at the School of Architecture of the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Bachelor in Science from Sun Yat-sen University and Master in Urban Planning and Design from the University of Washington. 

Chen's primary research interest is transportation planning and public health. He likes to apply statistical models to explore the built environment effects on travel behavior and diseases. Additionally, he is interested in the impacts of advanced technologies, such as shared mobility and new travel modes. 

Before joining the UT Austin, Chen interned for the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD) and the Urban Form Lab (UFL). During his internship in CAUPD, he worked for comprehensive planning of Jianghuai Metropolitan Region project. During the experience at UFL, he focused on several research projects including school walkability, personal attitude effects on travel behavior, motorcycle safety, etc.
