Examining at the 1929 Eileen Gray’s studio room photograph from the L’Architecture Vivante Maison en Bord de Mer magazine, the suspended ceiling light is one of the first elements that captures the viewer’s attention. It conveys a unique essential atmosphere character to the studio room; today’s missing piece in the latest Villa’s restoration. Originally located above the drawing table, one of the studio room most interesting and mysterious features due to the original final design intentions and unknown fate. Adequate and sufficient reasons to made a case for its reconstruction in terms of design. This research is intended to give the best functional, ergonomic and aesthetic appearance to the E.1027 studio bedroom space; as Eileen Gray approached her architecture and furniture. Although we’ve been collecting valuable information of suspended ceiling, main issues still are been questioned on the first intentions of the Eileen Gray design that could change the overall character of the studio bedroom space. Despite that the research recommendation left some evidence behind, other matters outweigh the evidence as a proof of judgment. Besides the evidences taken in count, it’s important to think how the suspended light fixture characteristics behave in the space and what it’s achieving – specially in its first 50 years of life when it hasn’t showed changes. Its sense of lightweight, slim and levitation presence on the 1929 were critical to the atmosphere as a layer of room presence. Plus, the sensation that it gives to the overall room. In the end, the research result is intended to create an object that respect the number of intentions of Eileen Gray; that was traced from evidence and room atmosphere impression. Today, we can rely on evidences that people contributed for the research, suggestions and original publications. Her works and thinking towards modernity placed Eileen Gray as a pioneer and a revolutionist; and this light fixture is the testimony of it. Eileen Gray managed to design with a special attention to the details and user’s ergonomics. Spaces were created and characterized by their singular furniture, that she managed them to be part of the Villa architectural space. It has been passed only 87 years after the E.1027 construction conclusion and its still gives as an image of contemporary style, even perhaps a timeless one.
