WHEN TO APPLY

SCHEDULE A VIRTUAL MEETING
Schedule an appointment with the Graduate Admissions Coordinator.
APPLICATION REVIEW
Applicants to all graduate programs are evaluated on The University of Texas requirements for graduate admission, set by the Graduate School. The Graduate School is the governing office for all graduate programs at the institution. Some programs may have stricter requirements. The graduate admissions committee will not review nor make decisions on incomplete files. It is your responsibility to ensure your file is complete by the deadline, including all Graduate School and departmental requirements.
DECISION NOTIFICATION
You may check your application status on the MyStatus website. We expect admission decisions to be available in late February or early March. When the admissions committee makes an admission decision on your application, it will appear on MyStatus.
Please do not call or email the Graduate Office to check your status. We will not release admissions decisions over the phone or via email.
ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT
Admitted students are required to pay a $350 non-refundable enrollment deposit to accept the admission offer. The deposit is applied to your first tuition payment when you enroll.
STUDENTS DENIED ADMISSION
As described by the Office of Graduate Admissions (OGA), admissions to SOA graduate programs are overseen by the Admissions Committees within the individual programs. These committees are composed of experienced faculty members who are best suited to determine the individuals who best meet program standards. Unfortunately, when there are more qualified applicants than can adequately be instructed by the faculty or accommodated in the facilities, the Admissions Committee for the proposed area may deny admission to many applicants. Admissions recommendations to the graduate dean are final; there is no appeal.
Please note the SOA is unable to provide feedback on individual applications or admissions decisions.
