Kevin Alter is the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, Academic Director for Architecture Programs, Sid W. Richardson Centennial Professor of Architecture, Director of the Summer Academy in Architecture, and Associate Director of the Center for American Architecture and Design at The University of Texas at Austin, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in design, construction, and theory. He is a graduate of Bennington College and of Harvard University. His professional practice, alterstudio architects, llp, has received more than thirty design awards and been widely published. Editor of seven books, his writing has also appeared in Architecture, Progressive Architecture, and Architectural Design, among other journals, and he has curated many exhibitions that have been shown in numerous venues. He has been a Visiting Critic, Reviewer, Lecturer and Visiting Professor at dozens of institutions around the world.
