Dr. Lieberknecht is serving as the faculty PI for the inaugural year of Texas CityLab, a Center for Sustainable Development initiative for an interdisciplinary group of UT Austin faculty and students to engage in service-learning work focused on social equity, environmental and economic issues facing Central Texas municipalities. About 15 2014-15 classes-- including Dr. Robert Young's Zero Waste class (photo)-- will be participating in service-learning projects focused on a common geographical location and a shared set of sustainability challenges.
