CAAD Forum: Andy Bako
In "The Meat We Live In," architect and computational designer Andy Bako explores the dynamic interplay between physical and digital realities, advocating for new rules of engagement with architectural matter. Caught between the extremes of overabundance and scarcity, architecture is poised to generate new canons and forms of authorship. Through an expanded approach to material resourcefulness, Bako argues that the built environment can be reimagined as an evolving interface—one that feeds on both its form and image.
The CAAD Forum series is hosted by the Center for American Architecture and Design to bring faculty, students, and staff together for informal and inquisitive discussions about ideas relating to architecture and its history, theory, practice, and future. Presentations introduce and off insight into new and ongoing research, and are followed by time for Q&A. Lunch provided; first-come first-served.
