Matt Fajkus is an Associate Professor at the UT School of Architecture and the Founding Principal of Matt Fajkus Architecture (MFA). Fajkus holds a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He teaches lecture courses and design studios centered on building technology, and has won numerous awards for his teaching, including the Regents Outstanding Teaching Award, the highest teaching award given in the UT system. He has been described as an “Austin Design Icon” by the Austin Business Journal. Matt Fajkus Architecture was honored to be named on the Forbes Top 200 American Architects list, and the work of MFA has received many awards and honors, and has been published in widespread publications, including, but not limited to National Public Radio, Dwell Magazine, and The Wall Street Journal.


The CAAD Forum series is hosted by the Center for American Architecture and Design to bring faculty, students, and staff together for informal and inquisitive discussions about ideas relating to architecture and its history, theory, practice, and future. Presentations introduce and off insight into new and ongoing research, and are followed by time for Q&A. Lunch provided; first-come first-served.
