Lecturer Paul Germaine McCoy presents "Everything but the Default"
Black background with white text "Everything but the default"

"Everything but the Default" spans years of creative development through Paul Germaine McCoy's drawing techniques, visual projects, and representation workshops at The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture and beyond. Drawing on the theories of Robert Venturi, Michael Young, and Kent Bloomer, the work emphasizes the importance of the "part" over the "whole" in architectural representation and creation, pushing beyond the constraints of manufacturer catalogs and software defaults.

The CAAD Forum series is hosted by the Center for American Architecture and Design to bring faculty, students, and staff together for informal and inquisitive discussions about ideas relating to architecture and its history, theory, practice, and future. Presentations introduce and off insight into new and ongoing research, and are followed by time for Q&A. Lunch provided; first-come first-served.
