Jeff Goodell’s most recent book is the New York Times bestseller The Heat Will Kill You First: Life and Death on a Scorched Planet. It was named a Best Book of the Year by NPR, The Economist, and the Los Angeles Times. Goodell is the author of six previous books, including the Remaking of the Civilized World, which was a New York Times Critics Top Book of 2017. He has covered climate change for more than two decades at Rolling Stone and discussed climate and energy issues on NPR, MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, ABC, NBC, Fox News and The Oprah Winfrey Show. He was a 2016 New America Fellow and a 2020 Guggenheim Fellow. 


City Forum is a planning and urban issues speaker series coordinated by the UT School of Architecture's Community and Regional Planning program. The series is intended to provide a space for open, critical dialogue regarding crucial planning-related issues in Austin and elsewhere, and to encourage discussion of diversity, multiple publics, and social change.
