Peishi Cheng is the Data Analyst at BASTA Austin, a tenant organizing non-profit. In his time at BASTA, he has created a "property snapshot" tool for all properties in Travis County, connecting eviction, code complaint, subsidized housing, and zoning data, along with many more datasets. This tool is used by community organizers and tenant advocates as a starting point for researching any property. Prior to joining BASTA, he completed his Ph.D. in Materials Science at Caltech. While at Caltech, he was organizing in the Pasadena Tenants Union which later went on to win rent control for the city.

City Forum is a planning and urban issues speaker series coordinated by the UT School of Architecture's Community and Regional Planning program. The series is intended to provide a space for open, critical dialogue regarding crucial planning-related issues in Austin and elsewhere, and to encourage discussion of diversity, multiple publics, and social change.

All participants are welcome. Lunch will be provided; first-come, first-served.
