Dr. Sara Codarin is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the Lawrence Technological University Department of Architecture. Her research spans large-scale additive manufacturing, robotic fabrication, digital craft, storytelling, and generative AI for world-building.

"Bio-Logic Design" explores the design potential of bio-based materials across various scales, focusing on their integration with digital fabrication - particularly additive manufacturing. By reducing the gap between design and construction, these technologies allow architects to engage more directly with material properties and fabrication processes. As energy production shifts toward renewable sources, the impact of embodied energy in building materials is gaining importance. Bio-based materials provide sustainable alternatives that challenge conventional construction methods while introducing new aesthetic possibilities. From custom material composites to large-scale architectural applications, this approach reshapes the relationship between nature, technology, and the built environment.

All participants are welcome, but spots are limited. Lunch will be provided; first-come, first-served.
