Field Trip: Harvest Lumber Company

Join us for a field trip to the Harvest Lumber Company in East Austin at 9:30 a.m. on February 14th! Participants will be given a tour of Harvest Lumber Company by owners Kris Burns and Andrew Danziger. The company collects tree trunks from fallen trees around Central Texas and processes the wood for retail to the public.



 A talk on the collection and milling process, as well as a sawmill demo, will be included in the tour. Amanda Hancock and Jesse Neumann of the Urban Forestry Program at the City of Austin will also discuss the city’s reuse program, which partners with the Harvest Lumber Company to ensure trees cut down in Austin can be repurposed.
