Field trip: Moontower Design Build

Moontower Design Build



On this trip we got a great tour of a residential project in-progress from the founding partners and employees of Moontower Design Build, an up-and-coming young firm with local roots. The renovation and addition is located on a steep street in the Allandale neighborhood of Austin, and part of the addition cantilevers over the slope of the site.  The front portion of the existing house has been cleared to an open floor plan and the addition provides generous prospects of the property.  Frank Farkash and Greg Esparaza met at the UTSOA as undergraduates and founded Moontower with Jeff Munoz shortly after graduation. Starting out with small projects and remodels, the company grew with their increasing experience.  Now Moontower is a 10+ team with expertise in architecture, construction management, and interior design.
