Several rolls of paper, some white and one yellow, are stored upright in wooden cubby compartments, with additional paper rolls on horizontal racks above. The photo is taken from above, showing the open ends of the rolls.

The Materials Lab continued the ‘Materializing Design’ series with an introduction to the Materials Exchange. Located in the Sutton basement, the Materials Exchange has a variety of materials available for students to use for physical modeling. The Materials Lab staff led a hands-on demonstration highlighting basic model building methods using different tools and techniques. Students were able to learn about the physical and representational qualities that different material selections have to offer. To conclude the session, participants were able to interact with physical examples of models exploring different material possibilities.
