National Park Service Meet & Greet
Please join Marta de la Garza Newkirk (CRP ’95), National Park Service Community Planner, for a presentation on the work of the Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program in Texas and around the nation. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at noon in the Dean's Conference Room (GOL 2.308).
Lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
The National Park Service Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program (RTCA) supports community-led natural resource conservation and outdoor recreation projects across the nation. The national RTCA network of conservation and recreation planning professionals partners with community groups, nonprofits, tribes and state and local governments to design trails and parks, conserve and improve access to rivers, protect special places, and create recreation opportunities.
The RTCA Texas program currently posted a vacancy for a graduate level internship position based out of the Austin office. The internship will offer real-world work experience with the National Park Service's projects around Texas and comes with the potential for permanent placement in the federal government.
