AESTHETICS OF (IN)EXCESS
We live in a world of excess. It is an excess of material and information, and this excess is accelerating every day, causing disruptions across all aspects of our lives. How does architecture respond to the excess? Can it embrace excess as a generative force rather than a problem to be solved? To respond to these questions, this lecture will explore the concept of an aesthetics of (in)excess, examining experimental projects at different scales and programs by Hirano.
