VRC Exhibition | Postwar Landscapes: Berlin Green Places

Sept. 8, 2014 to Jan. 9, 2015, 8 to 5 p.m.
Location: Sutton Hall
Café am See (Cafe on the Lake), Britzer Garten, Neukölln is the site where the 1985 Federal Horticultural Show took place.

The Fall 2014 Visual Resources Collection exhibition showcases Postwar Landscapes: Berlin Green Places. In summer 2013, UTSOA Landscape Architecture student William Niendorff spent ten weeks documenting over ninety landscape sites in Berlin, Germany. The images in the exhibition highlight vital green places nearly seventy years after World War II. Niendorff traversed the city documenting the twelve administrative districts and photographing spatially and sociologically significant sites. The images capture a moment of the always-changing, living beauty of Berlin's urban landscapes.

The VRC’s images support teaching and research. The entirety of William’s image donation is available to UT affiliates via the online image collection.
