Stefan Brits

Lecturer

Stefan Brits is currently a Lecturer and an Administrator of the Professional Residency Program at the School of Architecture. He teaches both design and visual communication classes.  Additionally, he works at Hunt Architecture as an architectural designer.

Before starting his career in Architecture, he pursued both his Bachelor and Master of Science in Chemistry at Florida State University. Stefan’s academic career started as a teaching assistant in organic chemistry lectures and labs. This interest carried over to his time at the University of Texas School of Architecture, where he served as a teaching assistant for Visual Communication courses throughout the duration of his graduate studies. Upon graduating from the University of Texas, he was the recipient of the prestigious AIA Henry Adams Medal, and the Edward Allen Student Award.

Stefan is particularly interested in the hybridity of drawing methods and its influence on teaching pedagogy, representation in practice, and issues of design equity.
