                    Benjamin Ibarra-Sevilla's work recognized with a 2014 University Co-Op Research Excellence Award
              
     
  Assistant Professor Benjamin Ibarra-Sevilla received a 2014 University Co-Op Research Excellence Award in the category of Creative Research for his work, “Mixtec Stonecutting Artistry: 16th Century Ribbed Vaults in Mixteca, Mexico.” His research uses digital technologies of visualization in order to explore the relationships between geometry and stonecutting techniques necessary to design and build three different late-gothic vaults. The award includes a book and a traveling exhibition, which will be on display in the School of Architecture's Mebane Gallery from January 20 to February 20, 2015.
