The Professional Practice course is designed to give students an exposure to the key business issues they will face as practitioners in Architecture and Landscape Architecture. The course provides an overview of marketing and managing the design firm, compensation process, firm typologies, and organizational options, as well as processes for delivering professional services; methods of selecting consultants and assembling teams; identifying work plans, project schedules, and time requirements; recommending project delivery methods; and project financing methods and feasibility. The course also covers the licensing and regulation of design professionals and the legal and insurance issues that affect the practice of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
