This studio is focused on applied design research projects in London. Students examine firsthand communities faced with severe negative environmental and life-threatening impacts. Our central aim is one of urban regeneration with emphasis on designing livable, affordable, and net-positive carbon environments; walking, biking, and transit; creating local work incubators and energy generation; and fostering the ecological city: environmentally focused, and harnessing food and water.
Each year the studio works on a live project with a London agency (previously the London boroughs of Lambeth and Greenwich, and the Greater London Authority) plus local representatives and community groups, where our work aims to make a difference.
