Planning Forum Vol. 16 - Call for Submissions

Planning Forum is an annual publication produced by graduate and doctoral students in the Department of Community and Regional Planning at The University of Texas at Austin. The journal publishes peer-reviewed scholarly articles as well as critical explorations in less-conventional formats. Planning Forum serves as a platform for emerging voices and new perspectives on the most pressing issues in the field. Scholars, practitioners, activists, and writers of all kinds are welcome to submit

As a dual-format journal, Planning Forum invites both:

  • [Inquiries] scholarly articles for peer review, as well as
  • [Explorations] essays and other written and visual formats.

We especially encourage submissions from under-represented perspectives and topics.

We accept:
  • empirical research and analysis;
  • critical, theoretical, and exploratory essays;
  • personal and journalistic accounts from the field;
  • articles based on student work;
  • interviews;
  • photo-essays;
  • other formats.

Requirements:

Scholarly articles submitted for peer review and publication in theInquiries section are limited to 5,000 words and 4 images. These articles must follow APA 6th edition convention.

Submissions to the Explorations section are limited to 1,500 words and 4 images, or 500 words and 6 images for photo essays, and should follow APA 6th edition convention when applicable.

Images to be submitted as (minimum) 300 dpi JPEGS or TIFFS.
