This issue is edited by Steven A. Moore and Elizabeth Walsh. LEED accomplished something extraordinary. Researchers from the National Resources Defense Council and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) pulled together late twentieth century, state-of-the-art knowledge from environmental science, architecture, and engineering to create a rating system that has transformed the building industry.
