The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture is pleased to introduce our visiting faculty for the Spring 2020 semester. Join us in welcoming these scholars and practitioners to UTSOA, where each of them will be teaching an advanced design studio this semester.

Gina Ford, Dr. Nancy Panak Kwallek Endowed Chair in Design and Planning
Gina Ford is a landscape architect, co-founder and principal of Agency Landscape + Planning. Underpinning her two decades of practice are a commitment to the design and planning of public places and the perpetuation of the value of landscape architecture via thought leadership, teaching, writing, and lecturing. Her work has received awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects, the American Planning Association, and the American Institute of Architects, among others. Her service includes roles on the board of directors for the Cultural Landscape Foundation and the City Parks Alliance. Gina is the recipient of the Harvard Graduate School of Design’s Charles Eliot Traveling Fellowship and the Wellesley College’s Shaw Fellowship.

Edward Ford, Eugene McDermott Centennial Visiting Professor
Edward Ford is the author of the two volumes of The Details of Modern Architecture, as well as The Architectural Detail. He has taught at Washington University, the University of Virginia, Princeton, Columbia, and has served as the Thomas Jefferson Visiting Fellow at Downing College at the University of Cambridge, and the Pietro Belluschi Visiting Professor at the University of Oregon. He has been an Artist in Residence at Grand Canyon, Great Basin and Petrified Forest National Parks, the Cape Cod National Seashore, and was a Fellow at the MacDowell Colony in 2014 and 2018. He has lectured at over 30 universities and institutions around the world, and his work has been supported by grants from the Graham Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
