Karen Cermak

Karen Cermak moved to Austin in 2023, quickly falling in love with the city. In her role as Academic Program Coordinator, she supports academic operations and events such as student employee hiring, studio lottery presentations, and final review logistics. Her work involves close collaboration with program directors, faculty, and the Student Affairs team. She also manages and develops key academic resources such as syllabi and handbooks.

Karen is passionate about improving processes that support the academic community and the innately creative environment present within the School of Architecture. In her free time, Karen enjoys reading, sewing, and spending time with her husband, Chris, and their dog, Pippy.
