
On Friday, October 13, the Center for American Architecture and Design will host Mark Macek as part of the Friday Lunch Forum series.
Roughly every other Friday during the fall and spring semesters, the Center hosts the Friday Lunch Forum Series. The aim of the series is for faculty, staff, and students to meet in an informal atmosphere to debate topics and to share ideas about history, practice, theory, and new directions for architecture. Recordings of each forum will be posted as they become available.

Please join Gensler on Friday, October 13 for a presentation on the firm’s work and hiring practices. The event will be held in the Dean’s Conference Room (GOL 2.308) at 9:30am. Representatives from Austin and Los Angeles will be on hand to answer student questions and discuss the Design Strategist Development (DSD) Program.
Breakfast tacos & coffee will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis courtesy of Gensler.

Professional headshots will be taken in the Goldsmith Courtyard—weather permitting—by Katie Hill. Post-processed files will be provided to students following the session.

Please join Mark Dennis, landscape architect at Pacheco Koch and UT Austin alum, this Thursday, October 12 for a student meet & greet. The event will be held in Goldsmith Hall 2.308 at 11:30am. During the presentation, Mr. Dennis (RLA, ASLA, APA), will speak about Pacheco Koch's work and hiring practices. The firm is interested in connecting with UTSOA landscape architecture, urban design, CRP, and sustainable design students.

How will virtual reality affect our relationship to the built environment in 2030? Experts from architecture, film, and visualization weighed in on the question in four short presentations and a Q&A. Following the lecture, participants sampled a series of virtual experiences in the Materials Lab.
