
This workshop will be a two-and-a-half-hour hands-on tutorial for students who are interested in learning how to make prints from black-and-white film negatives in the UTSOA's Darkroom. Students will learn how to use an enlarger to expose their negatives onto resin-coated paper. Correct exposure and developing times will be covered as well as proper print washing and drying techniques. Negatives can be provided if needed.

Composition chronicled the processes and materials that comprise our School of Architecture Material Exchange. The exhibition highlighted the successes of the Sutton Hall location and opportunities for studio-sized, rolling stations with the testing of a new prototype. The first 50 visitors received a handmade sketchbook composed of reusable materials from the Exchange.

Learn how to use the VRC Lighting Studio to make your model photography stand out! Basic DSLR operation, lighting techniques, and post-processing techniques will be covered in this workshop.

This is an hour-and-a-half-long workshop which consists of two halves.
The first half (10:30-11:15 am) focuses on the fundamentals of photography and technical aspects pertaining to digital SLR and controlling the basic parameters in a DSLR to get the desired result.

On Friday, February 24, the Center for American Architecture and Design will host Jim Walker as part of the Friday Lunch Forum series.
Roughly every other Friday during the fall and spring semesters, the Center hosts the Friday Lunch Forum Series. The aim of the series is for faculty, staff, and students to meet in an informal atmosphere to debate topics and to share ideas about history, practice, theory, and new directions for architecture. Recordings of each forum will be posted as they become available.

This workshop will be a two-hour hands-on tutorial for students who are interested in learning to process their own 35mm or medium format (120mm) black-and-white film in the UTSOA's Darkroom. Students will learn techniques to load the film onto reels and develop film with black-and-white chemistry. Various film speeds and developing times will be covered. Students will learn how to wash and dry film and the proper techniques to preserve negatives.
