Recordings of each forum will be posted as they become available.

This workshop is closed, and make-up only.

Beijing-born architect Ma Yansong is recognized as an important voice in the new generation of architects. He is the first Chinese architect to win an overseas landmark-building project. As the founder and principal of MAD Architects, Ma leads design across various scales. In recent years, many of Ma’s designs follow his conception of the “Shanshui City”, which is his vision to create a new balance among society, the city and the environment through new forms of architecture. Since designing the “Floating Island” in 2002, Ma has been exploring this idea through an international practice.

This workshop will be a two-hour hands-on tutorial for students who are interested in learning how to make prints from black-and-white film negatives in the UTSOA's Darkroom. Students will learn how to use an enlarger to expose their negatives onto resin-coated paper. Correct exposure and developing times will be covered as well as proper print washing and drying techniques. Negatives can be provided if needed.
Tutorials are open to all SOA faculty, students, and staff. Class size is limited to 6 for each session, and openings frequently fill quickly.
