This landscape architecture project focuses on the transformation of former farmland into a restorative urban oasis, drawing inspiration from Chinese culture and history. By integrating traditional farming practices with modern design strategies, such as a cascading water filtration system, agricultural drifts, and sponge-design wetlands, the project aims to create a sustainable and biodiverse environment. The outcome is connecting people back to their land in a conversation that acknowledges both the past traditional use of land practices and addresses modern China's current uses and issues. Through this approach, the site not only serves as a sanctuary for people, animals, and insects but also preserves the cultural and historical significance of the connection to the land within the context of contemporary urban development.
